Really?!

I am still too frustrated and confused to discuss the bigger picture of the loss to Northwestern so for not will just focus on review what happened on South Bend Saturday afternoon.

Good:

William Fuller

At least it wasn't Senior Day.

T. Folston had 106 yards rushing on 20 carries for an average of 5.3 yards per carry and 1 touchdown.

Will Fuller had 9 receptions for 159 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Bad:

Play calling, especially in overtime.  I totally don't understand the three plays called before a missed field goal.


Brian Kelly

Run Defense; giving up 263 yards on the ground.

Ball security; 3 lost fumbles.

Red Zone Defense; Northwestern was 5 for 6 in the red zone (4 touchdowns and 1 field goal).

Ugly:

Snap holds.  Not only do the Irish loss the extra point they give up two on the return.

Kicking game; 1 missed extra point, 2 missed field goals, and an average of 35 yards on 4 punts.
