ASU Game = FAIL

There will be several articles overt the next few days review Saturdays loss to the Sun Devils.  Some will be good, bad and ugly and some will grade out parts of the team and parts of game.  We will use a Pass / Fail method.  WARNING: This WILL NOT be pretty.

Final Score - FAIL: If the Irish win they put themselves in great shape with Auburn, Michigan State and Kansas State losing.

Turnover Battle - FAIL: 4 interceptions giving up 123 yards on returns including 2 touchdowns and 1 lost fumble (three fumbles).  28 total points for ASU from turnovers.

The Run Game - FAIL: 41 net yards, 73 yards LOST rushing.  1.1 yards per rush average.

Run Defense - FAIL:  188 net yards surrendered  on the ground.

Red Zone Defense - FAIL: ASU went 5 for 5 in the Red Zone; 4 touchdowns and 1 field goal.

Offensive Line - FAIL: Notre Dame gave up 7 sacks.

Punt Returns - FAIL: 2 returns for a total of 3 yards.

Defense - FAIL: missed tackles and blown coverage's.

Comeback Attempt - FAIL: The Irish came within 3 points just enough to blow it and break our hearts.

Coaching & Play calling - FAIL: This team did not look prepared.
