Prediction

The Irish will play 12 games this season (excluding a potential bowl match-up),and  that’s as much as I can guarantee for this year.  If I were to predict their record, I would say best scenario 10-2 and worse case, 5-6.  I mark Oklahoma and USC losses (not that they can’t win, they just probably won’t).  More probable is between 9-3 and 7-5 (many are picking 8-4).  Michigan, Michigan State and Stanford are toss up games at best.  6-6 to 5-6 are possible with BYU in a position on the schedule of being a trap game. The Irish also have a history of dropping a game or two that they shouldn’t, and Navy, Purdue, Miami, Boson College, Pittsburgh and Wake Forest know that.

Talking Irish Prediction:  Irish fans will cheer, be disappointed, be optimistic and pessimistic.  We will be exalted to the highest highs with a run back by George Atkinson III, a devastating hit by Manti Te’o or an ankle breaking run by Cierre Wood.  We will then have our hearts broken by an untimely fumble, interception or penalty.  As for a record, we’ll be happy at 8-4 with a middle of the road bowl win and will steal a line from Mets fans, “wait till next year.”
