If you wanted to get
peak into the future of Notre Dame Football the US Army All American
Bowl in San Antonio Texas was a great place to start. The Irish had five commits playing in the
game; linebacker Josh
Barajas, linebacker Asmar
Bilal, center Tristen
Hoge, offensive tackle Jerry
Tillery, and safety Nicco
Fertitta.
Overall everyone played fairly well and for that matter
played a lot of snaps. All five Irish
commits played on the West squad who won 39 - 36.
Trisen Hoge, nephew of former NFL star and current ESPN
analyst Merril Hoge played every offensive down for the West. Although I would not say he was overly
dominant, his play was solid. He was
very impressive moving down field to make secondary blocks. He also had great footwork and played well in
space.
Jerry Tillery played a lot of snaps two spots down the line
from Hoge at offensive tackle. Tillery
held his own against the best high school defensive line talent in the
country. Watch Tillery on the US Army

Asmar Bilal moved well around the field and showed his
potential at outside linebacker. Bilal
also recovered a fumble for the West.
Josh Barajas played more than his fair share on defense for
the West. Although most scouting
services list him as an outside linebacker Barajas lined up in the middle for
much of the game. He mat have not made a
ton of tackles he seemed to be in and around almost every running play.
Nicco Feritta played with a cast on his left wrist which did
appear to hamper some of his play.
However Feritta played solid in coverage at times.
